I did this plan with my level 3 class:

1) I asked what was a fable. We came up with that a fable had animals that had characteristics of humans and that there was a moral or lesson to the story.
2) I used the two fables from FOG #3 p. 249 and 250 (The Ant and The Dove: moral-->one good turn deserves another; The Town Mouse and The country mouse: moral --> better to be poor and live in peace than rich and live in fear)
3) We read them, did some comprehension questions and then discussed the meaning of the fables.
4) The Ss then thought of some fables from their own countries.
5) I asked the Ss to write down their fable in English. Some wrote out the fable in their native language and then "translated" into English. I stipulated that they just could not find a fable online or use google translation.
6) The Ss exchanged papers and edited mistakes. The papers were returned and the Ss corrected the errors and handed the fables to me. I then corrected them and gave them back.
7) They will type them on the wiki that I have created for my class
